A Touch of Pink

A Touch of Pink

Katelyn was an incredibly sweet client to work with. She was fun, open to new things, and we both enjoyed creating a website for her that was cohesive, one-of-a-kind with spiffy features (such as double homepage images) and was able to create custom areas to load lots of content! This custom website design features: A... Continue Reading

You guys. I can’t tell you how excited I was to partner together with Sabrina from Gypsy Tan — We had our work cut out for us with a Blogger to WordPress transfer, domain URL change, and a new custom website design! I absolutely loved Sabrina’s style aesthetic, and we had so much fun creating the... Continue Reading

I wish I could tell you all the ways how working with Lexi was beyond incredible for me. We spent an entire year creating the most perfect website, and we are both insanely proud of the outcome. Arielle Elise

Arielle reached out to me wanting something a bit different than the norm: a textured background instead of white, bright vibrant colors, and a design that complemented her warm-toned photos well. A well thought-out mixture of watercolor flowers, paper textures, and colors resulted in the most beautiful design! I can’t tell you how fun it... Continue Reading

Chelsie came to me wanting something sophisticated, easy to navigate, yet had her amazing and fun personality wrapped up in one cohesive package. We were both more than pleased with the final look: soothing feminine colors, splashes of paint (hello fun), and some pretty hand-written details. This custom blog design includes: a fully customized posts... Continue Reading

Keri Mignano

Keri came to me wanting to revamp her whole blog look into something custom, unique, and easy to navigate. She loves the color pink, and instead of the popular blush pink, we decided to go with a toned-down, calming mauve. This custom blog design features a customized slider (with a cool caption area), ‘shop the... Continue Reading

The Coral Court

Kristi wanted to update her look and add more shop-ability to her blog. She’s a huge fan of watercolor and muted pinks, so we wanted to incorporate that into her design. We also added a bit of cursive throughout the design to break up the serif/sans-serif fonts. This custom blog design features a “shop the post”... Continue Reading

MindBodySuperfoods

I had the best time working with Shannon as we built Mind Body Superfoods from the ground up! She wanted a vibrant website that showcased her work, easy to navigate, and the ability for future clients to book her services! We both love the blue scheme with a pop of handwritten font. This custom website... Continue Reading

Domestic Imperfection

Ashley was one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever worked with.  She was looking to update her look as her old design was  bit dated. We wanted to keep it simple and play on the colors of her house since she runs a DIY and home decor blog. We also added a few unique elements... Continue Reading

IT’S LIVE! Alpine Lane’s site rebrand has bee IT’S LIVE!
Alpine Lane’s site rebrand has been something I have meticulously thought about all of 2019. It was my goal to get it up the beginning of 2020 as this year for me is all about being purposeful, ever growing, ever challenging myself. The rebrand envisions everything I love and strive for.
Go check out the new site rebrand as well as the several new portfolio designs! I’d love to hear what you think!
I used to be an avid blog writer myself - writing I used to be an avid blog writer myself - writing at least 3-4 posts a day. Then life happened and I became a mom, a full time web designer, and someone that enjoys stepping away from my computer during my free time rather than write posts. I do miss it sometimes, but I enjoy living vicariously through my wonderful blog clients!
Do your blog posts correlate with your social media posts? What do you aim to publish each week? Do you post multiple times on social media a day? Or find more irregular posting provides better results? What about with blogging?
For me, posting on social media 1-3 times a week is more impactful than several times a day. Blogging on the other hand, posting several times a week provides a search engine boost as you’re telling Google you’re a resourceful, thriving site!

Ok this seems like such a simple tip, but you wou Ok this seems like such a simple tip, but you wouldn’t believe how many clients have reached out to me wondering why their host is telling them their blog is taking up an absurd amount of space. It’s almost always their uploads folder. Trust me, each 3-5MB photo on posts (averaging 10 photos a post) every day for YEARS adds up. There is absolutely no reason your photos have to be uploaded 3000px wide by 5000px high when your blog is only going to use an image of 700-1200 max width. Not sure what size you should be uploading your photos at? Reach out to your blog designer! They can tell you!
You can also optimize your photos when you export them on your photo editing software. Ideally, your photos should be 80-300kb each in size, yes even at 1200px wide!

We live in a world of negativity. As bloggers, onl We live in a world of negativity. As bloggers, online entrepreneurs, social media gurus, and authors we have the opportunity to spread a little positivity into the world! For me, it’s making sure I’m always kind, courteous, and always willing to help and offer suggestions! I think going out of your way and offering an encouraging comment can help make someone’s day too!
“Create your own job. Become the master of what “Create your own job. Become the master of what you do. Fully imerse yourself in your culter. Be humble. You are never above having to pack boxes. Never forget where you came from. And always be polite. Good old-fashioned manners can get you very far.” - Jenne Lomardo
I’ve seen it happen time and time again. Clients I’ve seen it happen time and time again. Clients pay good money to set up a blog, write religiously for months on end, working hard in hopes of eventually getting paid, and then boom. Burnout. The thing is, we all deal with burnout, but when you’re doing something you’re not passionate about, it’s hard to get back “back on the horse” after a burnout and easier to just scrap it all and deal with the loss of $$, time, and sanity. Want to give blogging a try but have no idea what you want to write about? Examine what you do IRL! What are your hobbies? Interests? Ideas? Are you a shopper? Baker? Aspiring Joanna Gaines? The more personal you can get in your blogging endeavors, the better a reader is going to relate to you. Your blog should be an extension of who YOU are, not a stale collection of brand reviews or location reports.
